The MQM also boycotted the National Assembly session.
Senator Mustafa Kamal highlighted the deteriorating security situation in the city and urged the prime minister to visit the city immediately.
During the NA session, MQM MNA Abdul Qadir Khanzada raised a point of objection and said that Karachi’s situation has been worsening day by day, but the law enforcement agencies were not doing anything about it. The government has also not taken any concrete steps to control it, he maintained.
The party also threatened to boycott all NA sessions if the government does not come up with its security plan for Karachi by tomorrow.
On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Rohail Asghar said that MQM is in the government and it should not boycott the session. If MQM is so concerned about the situation, then it should quit the government, he added.
The past 10 days in Karachi have been the deadliest with around 80 people killed, according to police records. Rangers and police claim to have been carrying out operations in various areas and arresting several suspects.

we like and support of MQM's Step well done MQM......
@Syed Karim: Although I do not approve of sweeping, emotional comments of this kind, because they are based on prejudice against entire groups and communities, let me give a brief answer to the question "how many mohajirs..." for your obviously little information. And let me clarify at the outset that I am supporter of no party. I only support good words, good deeds and appreciate the truth! The names that immediately come to mind are Dr. Salimuz Zaman Siddiqui. Dr. A.Q. Khan; Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy; Artist Sadequain; writer and poet Jamiluddin Aali, Quratul Aim Haider, Singer Mehdi Hasan, Maulana Abul Aala Maudoodi, Abdus Sattar Edhi (a Gujarati speaking migrant). There would be others, certainly, and readers can recollect and give names. As far as Nobel Prize is concerned, this nation of 160 million has produced only one. Sad to say that prejudiced people like you do not own him because he was an Ahmadi!! I don't know who you are but would advise you to broaden your narrow outlook and thinking. This kind of thinking leads straight to conflict and is poison for national harmony. We must appreciate and honour our talented people whichever community they may belong to and not find fault with particular communities!
"Partition of India was the biggest blunder in the history of mankind. India should take all Muhajirs back." Altaf Hussain in a speech in India
So now it is clear what his agenda is and should not surprise anyone.
Topi-Drama...
Mohajirs like to claim that they created Pakistan and, therefore, they have the right to dominate and rule Pakistan. Mohajirs think they are better-educated and intellectually superior; they are uniquely qualified to rule Pakistan. How many Mohajirs are internationally acclaimed figures in science, literature, and arts? Answer: None. How many Mohajirs are Nobel laureates? Answer: None. The truth is that Mohajirs are mediocre people. Their only redeeming quality is that they can speak English and, therefore, view themselves as colonial masters of Pakistan; just like Altaf Hussain who rules from London.
A real NOORA KUSHTI .... Enjoy the government and "khaatay jao, aur shorr machaatay jao" in Sindh.
.........................and that is all they will do. The public certainly are not impressed, so who are they fooling ??
All the three ruling parties seem to be doing nothing to stop the carnage because they are part of the problem. Boycotting sessions is the height of hypocrisy. They should all stop their own workers from indulging in violence first, and agree to hand the city over to the army. The army for its part must deweaponise the city, in coordination with the Police and the Rangers. There is no other solution. Al the three parties, plus the crtiminal elements that have entered the fray, are trying to kill the goose that lays golden eggs. Karachi is a cosmolpolitan city, and should be allowed to remain so. If peace is restoredin the city, and bhatta khors are brought under control, Karachi's economy could take off with a bang, benefitting all and sundry.
@Karachiwala: Really??? first of all, how can u assume that all the comments that are posted, if they are ANTI MQM, then they dont belong to KHI??? and i do belong to khi
WHATS HURTING KARACHI MOST IS THE POLITICAL TOTALITARIANISM THAT MQM IS TRYING TO IMPOSE ON KARACHI THEY ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM, NOT THE SOLUTION
To all of the above, all the inhumane creatures of this country. Please mind your own business and stop bashing mqm just because you hate them. You cannot allege/trial/judge and pronounce verdict at the same time. You do not belong to Karachi, and you all are very in-sensitive about the crisis here. You all were kept quite when Zulfiqar mirza proclaimed that he handed 300,000 arms license.
It is only MQM that is blocking the bloodbath in Karachi, by calming the victims to exercise patience. if there were NO MQM, then "i see who see Karachi!" ET you must publish this since you have allowed others to write stupid.
PPP should have also boycotted, coz all these three parties are involved in extortion and target killing in karachi (SC's verdict), boycott means they dont wanna discuss it or want peace in Karachi
Drama only. I guess they are so busy to slaughtering innocent people that they could not attend the session. Elections are coming and they are busy collecting bhatta (money) from the traders to contest next polls. I don't know why our intel agencies including ISI are not stopping these killings as they definately know the culprits. There are hundreds of missing person in Balochistan (innocent or terrorists). But Karachi where it is proven that some parties are involved in killings why not they are being taken to the cleaners. It means they all are corrupt and shameless.
Our MNAs should not boycott just this session of that theatre but leave Islamabad and come home, back to us the people who elected and sent them there. Let the rest of the jokers play the badly written script of a useless play.
100th episode of this never ending drama...
Typical !!!
