Court orders: Warrants issued for two men on parole

Around 35 men who were released on parole by the provincial government nine years ago.

KARACHI:


A district and sessions court issued non bailable arrest warrants for two of the 35 men who were released on parole by the provincial government nine years ago.


The second judicial magistrate west, Sohail Ahmed Mashori, on Monday issued warrants for Abdul Latif Kamran and Muhammad Majid following the Supreme Court’s instructions.

Kamran was booked under section 13-D of the Arms Ordinance for carrying unlicensed weapons in August, 1999. He was released on parole on November 20, 2003, which was extended till December 19, 2005, and has been on the run since then. An FIR, No. 219/99, was registered against him at Mominabad police station.

Majid was jailed in January, 2000, after he was found guilty of burglary. He was released on parole on August 12, 2003, which ended on December 29, 2005. An FIR, No. 5/97, under section 380 of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered at Orangi Extension police station. The next hearing is on November 17.
