Helicopter crash: Pakistan commiserates with Turkey

ISLAMABAD:


The government of Pakistan expressed grief over the helicopter crash in Turkey that killed 17 Turkish soldiers.


President Asif Ali Zardari in his message to the Turkish President Abdullah Gul said “I have learnt with great sadness that a helicopter accident in Siirt has resulted in a tragic loss of 17 Turkish soldiers. As a nation which has lost so many of its own in the fight against terrorism we in Pakistan, keenly feel this loss. Crowned by the glory of martyrdom, the supreme sacrifice of these brave soldiers will never be in vain.”

Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf also sent a similar message to his counterpart in Ankara.
