PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Peoples Student Federation (PSF) Chitral girl’s wing president was removed from her position on Friday along with the rest of the district cabinet. In a press conference, ex-PSF president Bibi Jan said it was ‘the price we paid for reminding our leaders to fulfil their promises they made for Chitral a year ago.’ More than a year ago, PPP Women’s Wing Provincial President Asma Arbab Alamgir announced that a grant of Rs10 million would be provided for women’s development to the district. Jan said that this was not fulfilled despite repeatedly reminding them of their promises. “Instead of meeting our demands, the PPP Womens Wing Chitral President Falak Naz removed the entire membership of our cabinet,” she said. Jan vowed to continue her struggle to defend the rights of her people that had been ignored over the past four-and-a-half years.  In the past, Chitral has remained a stronghold of the PPP, often called ‘mini Larkana’.
