Several Seraiki parties protested and observed November 9, the day when the viceroy of India, Lord Curzon, included the districts Tank and DI Khan into the province, as a ‘black day’.
Protesters said that this decision was against the wishes and interest of the Seraiki people living in the districts.
Hundreds of protesters walked from Bannu Chungee to Topan Wala Chowk in DI Khan city. They also burnt effigies of the late viceroy.
Seraikistan Qaumi Movement (SQM) Leader, Shahid Atta Keyara, said that Lord Curzon had forced Tank and DI Khan to become part of the province at the time.
