Dipu Moni made the request during a meeting in Dhaka with Pakistan's Hina Rabbani Khar following previous discussions about the issue between the two countries, said Bangladesh's Foreign Secretary Mijarul Quayes.
"The foreign minister has raised the 1971 issue and expected that Pakistan would apologise at one stage," Quayes told reporters after the meeting.
"There are some unresolved issues between the two governments and she expects that Pakistan would come forward to resolve them," Quayes said.
Khar was on a six-hour visit to Bangladesh to formally invite Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to a summit scheduled to be held in Islamabad on November 22.
"The Pakistani foreign minister said that they have regretted in different forms in the past and that it was time to move forward," Quayes said.
Muslim-majority Bangladesh, which was formerly called East Pakistan, won its bloody independence struggle in December 1971.
The 1971 war began after tens of thousands of people were killed in Dhaka when then-West Pakistan launched Operation Searchlight, a campaign intended to deter Bangladeshis from seeking independence.
The current government says up to three million people were killed in the war, many murdered by locals collaborating with Pakistani forces. It has set up special tribunals to try the collaborators for war crimes.

Is Pakistan better off after 1971? Is Bangladesh better off after 1971? Yes in both cases I would assume. End of story. Bengalis stop wallowing in the past and Pakistanis stop pretending that we actually wanted to be together with Bengalis.
There were 45,000 Pak army & a total of 90,000 west Pakistanis in East Pakistan. It is claimed that millions of peoples were killed & raped. Do the math, it comes to every solider killing & raping 50 people every day throughout the operation. I am not saying atrocities were not committed but they were committed by both sides & the figures are greatly exaggerated. When PAF decommissioned its F-6s the whole fleet was given to Bangladesh gratis. If this issue was still there why did they accepted.
@ALI: Personally I am happy for Bangladeshi progress.
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: respected sir, I beg to differ with you.Do you know that for 24 years we practically mentally tortured the bengalis ie. from 47 to 71.did you know that they were in the majority but due to evil wills of our rulers at that time we never gave them the representation that they deserved. We always gave them equal representation as us which is politically wrong as we live in a democratic state.in order to reduce their power in the national assembly we made immoral plans such as the one-unit policy(by iskander mirza).Did you know that through out our numerous presidents(governer generals at that time) and prime ministers only few were bengalis such as Khwaja nazimudin and S H suhrawardy.Between 1949 and 1960 west pakistan's per capita income increased from 330 rs to 373 while in east Pakistan it decreased from 305 to 288.This difference was also seen in education sector between 1947 to 58 the numbers of primary school rose by 163% in west pakistan while in east pakistan it rose by only 38%.Lastly, we west pakistanis always considered east pakistani inferior to us we satirized their traditions, culture and language even our own Ex-governor general Ayub Khan has agreed to This in his autobiography FRIENDS,NOT MASTERS.This was only the pain we caused them in 24 years just in the operation searchlight and blitz we killed so many of their professionals so that Bangladesh does not stand on the same footing as Pakistan.
In my opinion after all this cruelty for consecutive 24 years, a diplomatic apology is probably nothing compared to what we did.i think it is high time that we realized our mistakes and at least be sorry for what immorality we have done.
@BADAR KHAN: Your appeal will fall on mostly deaf and dumb minds...what's the use ? When they didn't listen in 1971, when half of their country was at stake, why will they listen now ? You have to understand Pakistaniyat for what it really is.
I spent long time in Pakistan for education purpose. I found the people very friendly, sincere and kind hearted. It's true that Pakistan came in to existence by Muhammad Ali Jinnah sb's continuous effort. But who initiated the dream? The Bengolis....Who shed more blood for creating Pakistan? The Bengolis.....The Muslim League was founded in Bengal (Dhaka). Pakistan resolution was proposed by Sher-E-Bangla A K Fazlul Haque. And there are so many contributions... Then why they had to pull back......Because they were looked down upon, neglected in every field. I have gone through most of the comments here. Surprisingly, most do not read history. Only driven by egoistic views and strong hatred comments were made. So, see it hatred is up to this level now. How much it was in 1971? The Pak army was brain washed that all the Bengolis are 'harami ka baccha' and 'dalla of India'. They are not muslims....So kill them, rape them, loot them- It's halal. I'd like all my Pakistani brothers and sisters to read true history written by trusted persons. Mujib, if wanted to break Pakistan, should never go in to dialogue till 23rd or 24th March with the govt. They had demands but they did not like to finish what they created. 'Mukti bahini' a hatred name among Pakistanis (as i see here) were in the field much later. This army was formed day by day by ex-army men, ex-police men, ex-EPR men and common people who volunteered for saving Bengolis. After being attacked by some one it becomes farz to defend your self. There is no harm or disregard in saying sorry to your own brother (if you consider). Pakistan national assembly can pass a bill on this and say sorry for the mistakes of their seniors.
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui:
Agreed...
Bengalis should now move on..and stop crying like a baby..
We saw how much heart they have in the current Burma issue....
If BD can be appeased by apologizing as we still consider them our brethren we should do it, although, Pakistan has done so many times on different forums. Moreover, Pak army has done operation against those miscreants not civilians. By the way what would BD say about it's rebellion against Pak ideology, it's alliance with indian army supporting mukti bahini against Pak forces, if a group or a part of BD wants to seek independence, would it let it.No country in the world can tolerate such a movement tormenting its very foundation.
The Indo-Pak War of 1971 also known as the 'Sappers War' has been one of the most unfortunate chapters in the history of Indo-Pak relations. A one sided view of blaming India and India alone may not be being reasonable and appropriate. For the then Pakistani Establishment tried to suppress the voice of the people of East Pakistan. The role of the Research and Analysis Wing is a rather debatable point as the Mukti Bahini an insurgent group formed had been the primary cause of this problem that had culminated with the dismemberment of Pakistan and proved the 'Two Nation Theory' wrong. The fact remains that the war further affected bilateral relations between the two neighbours India and Pakistan. The Research and Analysis Wing of India if in any way has been responsible for having fomented the struggle for independence in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) just as the Inter Services Intelligence of Pakistan has been damaging to India the most recent examples of which have been Terrorism in Punjab and Kashmir and the Attack on Mumbai on 26/11/2008 the consequences have proved detrimental to both sides India and Pakistan. As wars have never really solved any problem but have further aggravated it. The war crimes committed in 1971 are now history and hence apology by Pakistan will simply be a diplomatic gesture like Queen Elizabeth II had apologised to the people of India for the Jalliawala Bagh Carnage. India, Pakistan and Bangladesh must now focus towards improving their relations and frame a long term economic policy towards developing trade and commerce rather than continuing with the 1971 hangover. Today the strength of any nation lies in their economic well being no doubt a military strength is necessary but without a strong economy the greatest of world powers have collapsed. Pakistan, India and Bangladesh together as cordial neighbours have the potential to influence the global economy and this should now be the prime focus of these three nations.

Will Bangladesh apologize for post-Bangladesh massacre, sloughter and rape of non-Bengalis!!??
Late Major-General (retd) Khadim Hussain Raja in his recently published book" A Stranger in My Own Country: East Pakistan, 1969-1971 (OUP, 2012)" writes Pakistan’s name has been blackened by just one man: General AAK ‘Tiger’ Niazi,he pronounced the words that even Genghis Khan would have hesitated to use: that he would let loose his soldiers on the women of East Pakistan till the lineage/ethnicity of the Bengali race was changed. The review of this book was published in this newspaper http://tribune.com.pk/story/405014/genetic-engineering-in-east-pakistan/.Any body with any sense of humanity should condemned what happened in East Pakistan and the guilty should apologise period.
BD should also apologise for the millions of non - Bengalis that were butchered by Mukti Bahini in East Pakistan. Read Martyrs and Marigolds by Aquila Ismail and Sips from a Broken Tea Cup by Raihana Hasan, both books reviewed in the Express Trbune this year for the other side of the story.
@safi: indian army intervened with the help of US and KGB and they have accepted it… KGB - May be true.... because Soviet Union and India were allies at the time... US!? - Hear what Gen Sam Maneckshaw (Commander of Indian forces at the time of 1971 war) had to say about your misconception... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvDjHcTeTe8 US actually had brought its naval fleet in the Bay of Bengal to defend Pakistani interest against India.. They just did not have the guts to intervene....
Khar's reply: " We have lost 30,000 Pakistanis to the fight against terror". (Pakistan's answer to every question coming their way from the rest of the world)
The Bengali terrorist Mukti bahini along with the indian hindu army killed more Pakistani Muslims so they should first not only apologies but ask for forgiveness.
@Umair Khan: Mr Umair, my father was in Dhaka in 1965 and 1970. He is the eye witness of all what happened. Pakistan Army were rapping innocent girls in Bangladesh. All senior positions were taken over by Beharis and Pak Army. Bangalies were hand to mouth while west Pakistanis were enjoying the pleasures of life. Also remember Fatima Jinnah supported Mujib-ur-Rehman and fought against Pak Army and Liaqat Ali Khan.
If the same policies and stance were carried on, soon Balochistan will seek apologise from Pakistan
stop crying get over it ! you broke away from pakistan now enjoy your independence ! Grow up
Narration in SIndhi "Hik Gareeb jo baar biyo Afaal bucchra".. Means: Poor man child with bad manners.. Dedicated to all those who are not in favour of seeking pordon, and conterarily are suggesting to blame against the victimized Bengal... We should atleast recognize our position instead of concieveing ourselves UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.. Those all tricky Political strategies of "Killing you for Ur Good-sake" are better for US, not for we 3rd World straved nations...
Pro Bono Publico : Why should India apologise. Millions of bengalis moved into India. They came for training on their own to free their mother country.
By reading all the comments of Pakistanis, one is forced to conclude that Baluchistran freedom is not too far away.
first learn the spelling of scientific arsehole@Saleem Hatoum:
@Khurram: we are saying the same thing end the relationship with pakistan. having relation with pakistan gives us bad name in the world
@safi:
There is no need for a "press conference"; except for people like you, the whole world knows the truth.
You owe me an apology for being so rude.
Bengalis should say sorry for the killings by mukhti bani?
Bangladesh should apologies to Pakistan for 1971 war atrocities Mukti Bahini and Indian troops subjected W. Pakistanis to. I still got in my memories the boxes of dismembered bodies of W. Pakistani troops coming from then E. Pakistan.
In return, Pakistan should start apologizing to Bangladesh for all the cricket matches, lost by Bangladesh in the hand of Pakistan Cricket team, one at time.
The government of Huseena lack etiquettes. What kind of hosts they are, trying to embarrass a visiting state guest.
Shame on you Indian mouth piece and a proxy
General Tikka Khan said I will see to it that our soldiers change the blood of the Bengalis. The Bengali women were raped by Pakistani soldiers at gun point. I am an eye wirtnesss . It happeened in Mohammadpur Dacca and also in Dhan Mandi. According to Ziaul Haq I am a Bihari/Bhikari - a Stateless citizen now living a happy lice in USA. The glue of Islam could not keep East and West Wings together. Why? West wing exploited East Wing and always looked at Bengalis with disdain.
I am not sure about the accuracy and extent of attrocities against Bengalis in 1971 by the Pakistan army. However, it is very clear that West Pakistan based goverment was never willing to give the Bengalis their due share. We (West Pakistanis) treated our brothers in the East very badly and never gave them their due share. The most unfortunate part is that we are making the same mistake against our brothers/sisters in Balochistan. As far as I am concerned, Pakistan army has nothing at all to brag about.
Musharraf already apologised for it. Moreover, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Mujib ur Rahman agreed the matter was a past and closed transaction when Mujib visited Pakistan during the Islamic Summit.
The current Awami League government is going beserk playing with peoples emotions. You cannot get another apology every ten years. I would not mind if Bangladesh asks Pakistan for compensation or handover of criminals though the latter were in Indian jails for two years before coming to Pakistan but this sheer cynicism.
Bangladesh should apologies instead for collaborating with the enemy (indian) forces against their own country and disgrace all the BD leaders who conspired against Pakistan...
If you wish to hide your mistakes, above comments will nicely give you a neat three step procedure. Let me explain.
Step 1: Deny it happened and ask for the proof. Surely any account submitted by Bangladesh is manufactured, and if it is submitted by other members of UN, it is American-Indian-Jewish conspiracy. Probably the only proofs you may believe in are those whispered in your ear by God while you are asleep.
Step 2: Cry "CONSPIRACY". If proofs are given and everybody is eager to listen to your explanation, call it conspiracy (A-I-J) to malign your name.
Step 3: Equate it with other wrongs done upon you. You do this typically to gain sympathy. Salala or drone or blasts have nothing to do with 1971. It was Pakistan's fault and nothing else.
These are same procedures followed by the "ghayrat" brigade and any one who has biased views installed as a defense mechanism to protect their egos from shame that they cannot bear.
Its as simple as this, all stakeholders of this war should apologize for their role in any type of killings.
Musharraf apologized - how many times should Pakistan say sorry?
Who cares...
Learn to accept your mistake. Read Hummod ur rehman commission report for those who want to protect sacred cow . Same was the with Japan and china . Japanese apologized and they are now big trading partners. Learn to say SORRY when wrong it will make us as an indididual and as a nation stronger in character not weaker as most of us presume.
If Pakistanhas been acquired at the name of Islam, and for Muslims than it`s eminent to seek apology from our Muslim Bengali brothers because World is aware what had happened in Bengladesh after becomming amalded into Pak. In-addition authorities should conceal idealogy of Pakistan, instand of implanting westenization by forgetting their commitment made at the name of Islam, otherwise; more Bengla-deshs are awaiting in the queue...!!
Sorry
Dipu Moni,
Pakistan will apologize when Bangladeshis apologized for the brutality they imposed on their fellow citizens (i.e., Biharis). If the argument goes, Bangladesh only killed those who were against Bangladesh then Pakistan could argue the same that it killed those who were against the unity of Pakistan. While at that, I would like Bangladesh to set an example by asking you to aplogize for the brutality you commit to the Chittangong Hill Tract people.
No apology until Bangladesh came out and affirmed its own brutality to its citizens.
Pakistan won the asia cup fair and square. why should they apologise for it? ICC should do something about this.
BD demand is right ,and they are much better than Pakistan because they were not wrong at that time too.Current situation of both the countries (economic, foreign Affairs, law and order etc speaks who was wrong at that time.
If BD economy is so good and you guys in such great position why you keep harping Pak do this or that, here is my answer NO apology, now what you gonna do?
Its high time we tried all those responsible for the genocide committed in 1971 and punish them
@Aamer You are a nation of Banyas and are the most opportunistic people around
Just to inform you of another lie that your textbooks teach you, there are far more Muslims in India than banias.
I am really surprised to see all this comment about Bangladesh. Apology never make any one small or weak. It our right to demand an apology about the genocide done by Pakistan Army in 1971. Why you people bear the shame of thous coward ripest? Brothers, plz learn from the mistake and go forward......
@vasan: How about India apologizing for training Bengali terrorists, and then actually invading East Pakistan to create a slave state?
what about millions of Bihari's who suffered at the hands of some Bengalis/mukti bahini? are you going to apologies to them for your war crimes miss FM? what about those Biharis who are still stranded in Bangladesh & are denied Bangladeshi citizenship? what about the Rohingia Muslims of Myanmar who wish to migrate to Bangladesh yet they are being denied the right! Miss FM of Bangladesh, everything is not black & white, first be answerable for all these questions then we will talk about this demand of yours :)
peace out
Reconciliation starts when both parties acknowledge they have committed violation of human rights. Example is that of Truth Commission headed by Bishop Tutu in South Africa . There was atrocities on both sides . Only the strong can accept that they have committed mistakes . Acknowledging one mistakes also prevents the same mistake from being repeated
How many times you need to hear the apology. What I remember is that Musharraf has already given the apology to BD. Get on with it....move on now
I think we do owe the Bengalis an apology, IF Musharraf hasn't already apologized i.e. And to the Indians commenting here....please get outta here. You aren't wanted here at all. Have some shame. You are a nation of Banyas and are the most opportunistic people around. This forum is an other proof of this.
I honestly suggest that BD should wait...Let's ask for apology for BD and Baluchistan together in few years time...It will be very difficult for them to do it twice...
its rather wastage of energy..its good to resign if our foreign manister is not enough able to hold tongues with equal with even bangalis..apology for what ,actually they are little master's they got interdependence after using our platform for there Desiree..most Muslims are polluts in Bangladesh for hind..
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui
Not once in the history of world has there been a non-contiguous country, existed, apart from East/West Pakistan. It's not hard to understand why. Don't mourn the inevitable.
@Sidewinder: For what? Are they ready to apologize for killing millions of non Bengali speaking Pakistanis in 1971?
The silent majority of Pakistan should take matters in their hand to take control of the society otherwise in future you will also be asked to apologize to your fellow brothers and sisters of other ethnic group like Shia, Balochis, Hazara’s, Bohras, Hindus, Ahmadi, Christians etc etc
@Ali S: Thanks for being so rational and truthful.
its time to move forward instead of looking in the past, what they have done leave it, look forward as to show your dignity and this is right time of performance.
@butler.....butler bete...That mendhki's economy is now bigger then your Pakistan..a country that evolved due to your coward generals who spared no effort to kill 2 million Bengali Muslims .Courtusy: Pakistan , leader and official Crybaby & Rudali of Muslim Ummah)..and yes they don't lead there Country out of BEGGING & BLACK MAILING from China and Amrika..your trusted friend
@Pakistan Politics:
" Extremely bias last two para’s, Thats how ET plays"
Distorted history is taught in Pakistan. Facts about the genocide have been sacredly guarded by the army from Pakiatani people and hence your objection.
Bangladeshi people had been killed by the Pakistani army and their local conspirators randomly in millions and it was a genocide which has been witnessed by them
The apology from a country is not demanded in vacuum . There are concrete evidences for mass killings.
those against a formal apology should ask themselves why Pakistan is in such a state?why they have become so intolerant?why they r trying to kill little girls like Malala? The thought process of these intolerant Pakistanis were the same as those in 1971. Musharaf only regreted the atrocities but did not apologise.Everybody knows Mirpur cricket stadium in Bangladesh but they dont know there are countless mass graves only a km away from the stadium.Bodies of Bengali intellectuals were found all over Mirpur after the war.By apologising Pakistanis wont belittle themselves but rise in the eyes of ordinary Bangladeshis as dignified citizen of the world.
@Khan: Read proper history...learn your mistakes.. Try to find out about operation searchlight & archer blood letter. Do you know that India saved the life of 90 thousand Pakistani POW from vengeful Bengali mobs?
@It Is (still) Economy Stupid: why they ask so late, bcoz they were not sure whether they are wright or wrong ? do you really think that pak army can ''rape''???? have you ever heard it even now?????? what to talk of killing...indian army intervened with the help of US and KGB and they have accepted it... ''we'' only defended our positions ..
We need more people like Mohammad Ali Siddiqui pressing self-destruct button, people like this will ascertain that he Pakistan as it is today will be destroyed without any help from any morons next door!
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui. I am not sure what they teach in Pakistan but you have access to the internet and I suggest you read the what Wikipedia has to say about the formation of Bangladesh - there is nothing written outside of Pakistan to support your statements. . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BangladeshLiberationWar
@wonderer: what you have seen, plz then held a press conference and speak out !!!!!! you are not judge to tell the crimes categories ... thnx
And who is going to apologize for slaughtering hundreds of thousands of non-Bangalis during the same time period, and displacing thousands of them from their home whose generations are still living in camps in Bangadesh. This is hypocrisy at its best.
I apologize on Pakistan's behalf.
Nothing wrong with that demand from Bangladesh.
Genetic Engineering Pakistan style...
Bangladesh FM should also have the courtesy to apologize for the mass massacre, loot, and plunder of non-Bengalis by a militant Mukti Bahini after the creation of Bangladesh, many of whom are still suffering in outskirts of Dhaka
In friendship no thank you, no sorry.
@Moulvi Nawaz Shareef: nobody cares but bd economy is doing much better than pak and thats all bengalis care. absolutely nothing about pak to admire except the geography.
Irrespective of the fact that there is nothing wrong if an apology is served to BD but the real motive behind all this drama is to malign Pakistan Army. A conspiracy to defame Pakistan Army is in full swing and is being executed by internal and external forces simultaneously. Look out attack on Army Installations, Sala Incident, Osama raid, Asghar Khan case and now Bangladesh seeking an apology.
@Alucard: Dictators dont represent General Nation of Pakistan. Musharraf killed Bugti so why we should apologize???. Yahya Khan and Bhutto were acting like dictators as well so they dont represent Pakistani nation in general. So we have no obligation what so ever to Apologize to anybody when General Public have nothing to do with it.
Is Bangladesh ready to apologize for the rebellion against Pakistan, getting military support from India, denouncing Pakistani ideology created by their elders for a racist, narrow-minded leader etc etc? Btw it was not a genocide. It was a full-fledged war between Pak Army and Mukti Bahini forces
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Government is playing in the hands of RAW, so who cares what their minister says
People and nations who do not confess to their mistakes, who do not learn from their mistakes, are destined to repeat them.
The whole world is pointing a finger at you still, have some shame !
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui:
So instead of sympathizing with the millions of Bengalis whose families and ancestors were systematically murdered, looted and raped, you're angry that they disagreed with the political ideology of Pakistan (which was, by the way, severely distorted thanks to years of military rule by the time East Pakistan separated in 1971) ? Scum like you are the reason Pakistan will never move forward.
In fact, my grandparents were among those people who left acres of land and property in India and started life from scratch here because they believed in Pakistan - now seeing how things have turned out they and their children are not sure if they made the right decision. The Bengalis were being marginalized by West Pakistan and had every right to their own nation - instead of trying to hush them, learn from your mistakes to make sure that this doesn't happen again (hint: Baluchistan).
@Talha: Stop deluding yourself....the generals wanted to finish the Bengali nation (nasl). Don't rub salt on Bengali wounds. We need to apologize to the Bengalis and to the Baluch ...
Why only apologize? They should be tried for 'Crime Against Humanity", and "War Crimes". I saw with my own eyes what they did before surrendering to Indian Army.
hey bangladeshis......at least thank us.............;)
Most of us were not even born when this incident occurred. Also Yahya Khan and Bhutoo were responsible for this mess not the general public so why Pakistani nation should even say sorry for the act of some individuals of Pakistan. Also If Bangalis have so much problems with Pakistan then Pakistan should end their relationship with than nation.
@Atheist: Does anybody care about BD, don't be a kid!!! and by the way should Pakistan also appollogise for defeating them in Asia Cup Cricket? lol
AM TAKEN ABACK , SHE HAS GONE CRAZY .... THERE IS NO SECRET BAGLADESH HAS BEEN ACTING AS A COLONY OF INDIA HENCE RAISING THEIR VOICE INDIRECTLY ,,,,,,,,
RAW supplied weapons to miscreants at that time across the border.Thousands of hindus dressed in Khaki uniform crossed into the present Bangladesh around that time.An ex KGB tells the story Watch the video on youtube titled "What Happened in East Pakistan (Yuri Bezmenov Former KGB Psychological Warfare Expert) "
1st apologize for being traitors, then the atrocities comitted by Mukti Bahini. Then we can talk about moving forward. Get over it BD Bhutto went to BD and here is the reponse if you cant move on not my problem.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hij-ydGdBq8
Everyone above who thinks Pakistan has nothing to apologize for should read the Hamoodur Rahman Commission report, which was not published for nearly 3 decades, only to protect the image of the Army. Senior officers who committed war crimes and conduct unbecoming of officers, were awarded plots and benefits and faded away in history. Others repeated their brutality in Balochistan in the 1970s.
Bengalis gone mad...!
Pakistanis, read this:
‘Genetic engineering’ in East Pakistan By Khaled Ahmed Published in ET: July 7, 2012
Have some shame ! A little bit of shame ? Some introspection ?
Pakistanis killed more than 300000 people in Bangladesh (the word for it is genocide), and just look at comments of the people on this forum. No wonder this country is the joke that it is.
First I want to see a sceitific proof that 1 or 2 million Bengalis were killed from March 1971~Dec71.....
Pakistan should appologise but on a condition that bangladesh will join pakistan and will become our province (east-Pakistan) once again
Awwwwwwwww :p B'desh want apology ................ arent these guys funny ?? i mean every now and then they bring some thing funny on the table .....
Bengalis would always be crying about everything.
@bangladeshi foreign minister read it slowly "k thanks bye!"
Just politics to ensure two countries do NOT have a cordial relation. Big neighbor in the middle benefits from all this drama. By that same standard, India, Bangladesh & Pakistan all should demand apology from colonialist British for the atrocity they committed in South Asia ! But that won't happen.
Yeah while we are at it we should apologize for beating them in Asia cup.
Conspiracy!!!!!! Conspiracy!!!!!! Conspiracy!!!!!! Conspiracy!!!!!! Conspiracy!!!!!!
RAW, CIA, MOSSAD, M5, KGB, KHAD, Amreka, India, Israel, Russia.
Ha la la la!!! Ha la la la!!! Ha la la la!!! Ha la la la!!! Ha la la la!!!
Only imran khan will bring change plz don't vote ppp noora league and other gaddar only pti imran Pakistan zindabad
@Daffuqq: Respect! =)
We should officially apologise for looting their wealth and spending all the money in west Pakistan, for killing thousands of innocent Bengalis and rapping their women.
WE AS A NATION SHOULD BECOME BRAVE AND APOLOGISE FOR OUR PAST MISTAKES.
Apologizing would be an admission of mistake/guilt - something that Pakistan has never done. At best they can form Commissions to study the problem.
I think we should apologise. If that's what the Bengali govt wants, we would look like intolerant fools not to apologise
We will if they apologizes for conspiring with the enemy and disintegrating our country
Did US apologize for Salala attack?
oooh boy!!! now this is gonna be interesting!!! :)
To start with I apologise for those innocents killed by our Army,in my personal capacity.
Will Bangladesh apologize for the war crimes she committed? Mukti Bahini weren't angels.
Issay kehtay hain 'mendki ka zukam'
Gona CRAZY?our ARMY fought for save EAST PAKISTAN from MUKTI BHANI....And is not Mr.MUJIB Perfidious In the eyes of PAKISTAN? BD, FM also apologise his counterpart.
If Pakistan expected apology from US and NATO for death of 24 soldiers its about time Pakistan should follow the same Principals and help the victims in their healing process. Please do it while the victims are still alive.
An Indian stooge playing the game started in 1971...when will India apologies to Pakistan for breaking a country and illegally entering an independent state with its military..when will terrorist of mukti bahini who massacred behari and west Pakistan Muslims will apologies...thanks to zardari and shareef tola...Pakistan is now at this level that countries like Bangladesh are showing us there eyes..what about war crimes from India and multi bahini...If you are ready to ignite a debate on 1971 then you have to face other realities of that war also..other wise be a gentleman country and look forward for new beginning of relationship...
the creator of Mukhti Bahinis should apologise first for the genocide and killings..
Pakistan should apologise for not being able to protect its citizens.
Cry babies as always.. bengalis get over it..
Instead that Pakistan should apologies to Bangladesh on the events of 1971 which has created Bangladesh on the world map, the Bangladeshi Head of the State should come to Karachi and visit Mazar-e-Quaid-e-Azam and apologies to the Father of the Nation that they could not manage to live with Pakistan which was created by Mohammad Ali Jinnah and his companions after a long struggle with the British and Indian Government.
It is unfortunate that Pakistan was unaware that there was a underground movement going on in the former East Pakistan to divide the motherland in order to create Bangladesh.
Pakistanis could not forget the scars which Bengali's have given in 1971 by separatist movement and creating Bangladesh on the world map.
There are number of Bengali's who still regret the events of 1971 and are still residing at different places in Pakistan instead of going back to Bangladesh.
They are the people who still hold the Pakistani Flags in their hands to show solidarity with Pakistan.
It is only fair that Pakistan apologises to Bangladesh for all the atrocities committed by Pak army on the Bengalis. After all Pak arm twisted US for the Salala incident and got some sort of apology, If that is any indication, Pakistan must apologize at least a 1000 times as the crimes committed in Bangladesh was really HUGE compared to the salala massacre.
Man how many times they want Pak to apologise? Didnt Musharraf already do something similar? You got an independent country now.. just get done with it and move on! Every other month same drama from BD!
