In an interview to a private TV channel, Olson said that action would be taken against Maulvi Fazlullah if any credible evidence is found about his presence in Afghanistan.
Earlier, US special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan Marc Grossman had also said that America is not pushing Pakistan to launch a military operation in North Waziristan. The Pakistani government has maintained that an operation will not be carried out without reaching a consensus on the issue.
The US has long been calling on Pakistan to go after Afghan insurgents and the Haqqani network believed to be based in North Waziristan.
Islamabad had voiced concerns when US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta disclosed that the Pakistani military was planning to start an operation against militants in North Waziristan, which invited strong criticism in Pakistan.

[to you moderator] drones off-topic in north waziristan ?
they should shoot the USA drones from now on
US end game has been decided and no longer depends on Pakistan or Waziristan campaign. A stable and prosperous Afghanistan is no longer a priority - they now just want to insure that militants in the region no longer can present a credible threat to the USA homeland. They are going to leave a small, cost efficient, and deadly military footprint capable of attacking militants in either Afghanistan or Pakistan. Afghan govt will control a small portion of country (not much different than now) and Pakistan govt/military will continue to look weak in presence of constant aerial attacks combined with occasional special force intervention.
@Dingo:
Fazalullah was seen having tea at the local Starbucks--is that enough credible evidence?
Angoor khatte hein !
