PESHAWAR:
Taking into account the increase in terrorist incidents ahead of Muharram, the district government has imposed Section 144 of the Pakistan Penal Code on Thursday.
A 30-day ban in Peshawar has been impose barring provocative wall-chalking and posters, transporting or displaying weapons in public, pillion riding and driving vehicles with tinted windows. The buying and selling of acid, petrol, diesel and kerosene oil in open markets has been banned, as well as the use of loudspeakers except when it used as a call to prayer.
It is expected that ahead of Muharram, civic bodies and law enforcement agencies will take extra security measure to avert any untoward incident.
