Cricket: PCB XI outclass British XI in T20

Inspired by a half-century by Babar Azam, PCB XI defeated British XI by 45 runs in a Twenty20 fixture yesterday in Rawalpindi. 


After being put into bat, the home side, led by Pakistan fast-bowler Umar Gul, managed 165 for six.

Azam scored 62, while Faisal Iqbal (27) and Asad Shafiq (24) were the other notable scorers. British XI captain J Prinsloo was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with three for 19 from four overs.

In reply, British XI were bundled out for 120 in 19.2 overs with Aizaz Cheema being the destroyer-in-chief. The fast-bowler claimed three wickets for just six runs. Pakistan batsman Azhar Ali, who represented British XI, was the top scorer with 39.
