Just in time: Bombs defused in Bannu, Jamrud

Two pickup trucks and a motorcycle were also confiscated.

BANNU: The bomb disposable squad (BDS) defused a 12-kilogramme bomb planted by unidentified suspected militants near the house of an Elite Force constable on Wednesday. A Ghuriwala police official said that they were informed of a water cooler placed near constable Sajjad Khan’s house around 8am. The BDS rushed to the site and defused the bomb. Another five-kilogramme bomb targeting Nato supplies was also defused by the roadside near Teddy Bazaar in Jamrud tehsil, Khyber Agency on Wednesday. Security forces launched a search operation in Bakarabad, Ghundai and Wazir Dhand areas and arrested 15 suspects. Two pickup trucks and a motorcycle were also confiscated.
