QUETTA: The Balochistan Transport Department on Tuesday launched a drive against compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations that refuse gas to consumers in the wake of a Supreme Court ruling on the reduction of prices. The action was taken under Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani’s directive. A joint team comprising officials of the provincial transport department and Sui Southern Gas Company sealed a CNG station for not selling gas to consumers on approved rates. Speaking on the occasion, Quetta Division Commissioner Qambar Dashti said the drive against the errant outlets would continue to ensure availability of CNG at approved rates. The majority of CNG stations in Quetta and the rest of the province had stopped gas sales following the apex court decision to cut prices.
