Amnesty scheme: PESCO offers up to 70% discount to defaulters

The discount package has been introduced to strengthen the recovery process, says Brigadier (retd) Tariq Saddozai.

The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) is offering a 50-70% discount to domestic defaulters with arrears of one to five years and above as part of a relief package.

Pesco Chief Executive Officer Brigadier (retd) Tariq Saddozai, who has recently assumed charge as the company head, has appealed to domestic consumers to benefit from the package and clear their dues.

While talking to the APP, he said the company is giving a 70% discount on arrears of above five years, 60% on three to five years and 50% on one to three years old arrears. He said that the discount package has been introduced to strengthen the recovery process, curb power theft and enable consumers to pay outstanding dues without burdening them financially.

To a question regarding action against black sheep in the company, he expressed resolve to purge the company of corrupt practices, adding that strict action has been initiated against high officials to set an example.
