KARACHI: At least six men managed to escape with Rs1.5 million from a Soneri bank branch in Metroville near SITE area on Tuesday. SP Akram Abro said that neither the guards, who were reportedly held hostage, nor the other staffers tried to stop them. “They were not even aware of how the robbers arrived and left,” said Abro. He added that the robbers did not even take the CCTV cameras, which was surprising. The police have detained the security guards and called in three suspected bank staff members, including the manager, to the police station today (Wednesday) for further questioning.
