Major General Bipin Rawat, general officer commanding (GOC) of the 19 Mountain Division, said that Pakistani troops had violated the ceasefire in Uri sector last month and then refused Indian’s request of a flag meeting.
“They even denied having violated the ceasefire. Yesterday (Monday) also, Pakistan rangers violated the ceasefire in the Uri sector,” the GOC was quoted as saying.
According to the report, he further alleged that the ceasefire violations were meant to assist infiltration from Pakistan. “They want to infiltrate as many terrorists as possible into our side before the snowfall although some snowfall has already occurred along the LOC,” he claimed.
With a ceasefire in place for more than 10 years now, the India-Pakistan border has not been the only route for infiltration. More importantly, India’s home-grown groups have made it near impossible to differentiate between foreign infiltrators and local militants.

@Hasan: Very well said. These guys are living in denial.
@BruteForce:
I always feel a little upset when Hindustanis learn a clever word like 'canard' and then use it with no knowledge of what they're doing. A little like you, I guess.
"...although estimates based on data provided by the finance ministry in its economic survey suggest that the poverty rate may have increased to an astonishing 43%."
So your certifiable data is based on rough estimates and speculative calculations - so much for you trying to prove me wrong. If Pakistan's government fudges its figures, what do you think goes on in Delhi? Hindustanis desperately try to take false credit for bringing so much into this world, but the one thing you are known for is deceit - I can assure you that there is even less validity to poverty data in Hindustan than there is from our despicable government in Islamabad.
LOL @ Hindustan's poverty levels decreasing...you're the only South Asian nation to have actually slipped down the hunger index over the past two decades. No matter how many Bollywood films you watch, the reality is very different from what you're thinking.
That's gotta hurt.
Hasan
As usual once again India is playing old blame game of accusations......
@Hasan:
"Incidentally we are still higher up on the poverty index than you guys, but that’s hardly a massive surprise, is it?"
A fact which has turned into a canard.
http://tribune.com.pk/story/181361/economic-survey-2010-11-has-the-real-poverty-rate-hit-43/
India's poverty is expected to come down to 22% by 2015. Pakistan is now in a whole different league.
Pakistanis had one thing which was better than India. Now, even that is gone.
@Raheel:
Hello Brother , You here telling that India is supporting US . Everyone know's who is taking arms and dollars from US and who sold their army bases to US. I think all of you are still living inside the fog of myths which is created by your politicians and local media get out of it and try to know the reality without just blindly commenting against us. Also some telling about Businessman , If your country businessman don't have enough time and money for investing in cement, steel, car and they were busy with making guns and supplies for terrorists , Obviously Indians will take over your factories .Also can you give any example for Indian people create your region unsafe in return we can plot 1000's of examples with proof . World knows which is the land of terrorists. We are not blaming you and your great country but just giving reply to your comments which all of us know is 100% wrong. Anyway Enjoy the hospitality of India again heard that our government invited your players for cricket .
@Raheel, there isnt much difference in blood, but difference in ideology. I want my laws and society based on Islamic law and nothing else, and this is what we have to strive for. And you will not agree with me but i feel closer to Afghans then indians bcoz of being Muslims. In london i dont hqve ti worry abt where we eat when i am with Muslims, dont have to worry abt alchol. Only tslking abt Muslims who r practicing. Just small examples. Point being the diffeence is not in blood but in ideology.
@terabyte: And you, one more screwed entity and pitifully awestruck by the western theories
@ Raheel
Its not your fault, Denialistanis are a plenty.
Think rationally and do not only see what you want to see.
Mr. Raheel,
With all due respect! The guy who made that juvenile comment on the train was an idiot regardless of his place of origin. However, I have a question:- The so called "God" that you refer to has been pouring in billions of dollars, arms and ammunition into Pakistan in the name of AID for the last ten years. If Pakistan is aware of the fact that the NATO and the US are doing this to destabilise the region why is it that your government is gleefully accepting it?
According to most analysts Pakistan is the biggest beneficiary of 9/11. Prior to 9/11 too, Pakistan has been the favorite ally of the west. During the 1971 war they were almost ready to go to war with India for Pakistan while turning a blind eye to the human rights atrocities in East Pakistan. Pakistan played a crucial role as a US ally during the cold war days and that too by choice not out of compulsion.
India, despite US pressure, refused to intervene militarily in the Afghan conflict. They even refused any kind of logistical support.
If your public truly believes that the US is the cause of all ill why is it that they still enjoy the support of your government? Why do you let them use your Military bases? Why do you provide them logistical support?
As for your Afghan-Pakistan unity; my friend have you read any of the recent interviews by the Afghan government on any International forum. Forget Afghanistan, you guys are yet to bring NWFP under your government's control. And what happens when Uncle Sam stops paying your bills and handing you old bullets? My friend get real and quit trying to threaten India. If not for the constant terrorist attacks in India most Indians would even forget that a nation called Pakistan exists on the map.
Warm Regards, An Ordinary Indian
@Raheel: one more brainwashed victim
Very very well said raheel.. We r both from the same mother!!
@Polpot:
The other route is the Cricket crowd from Pakistan and the ‘businessmen’on the multiple visas.
Really, I thought it was the indian "businessmen" salivating over the prospect of taking over Pakistani car industry, steel industry, cement industry, construction industry, etc.
@Raheel: "why India is always with occupier of Afghanistan. first with USSR and now with NATO and US"
India occupying Afghanistan? Whre are you getting your data from? People might have forgotten to tell you - PAkistan is a'major non-NATO ally" of USA. India has nothing to do with the current war in Afghanistan. It is helping to build some infrastructure there at the invitation of Afghans. Please ask Afghans - who tormented them and who supported them.
Yes India certainly would havte to have Afghan Taliban in power who helped in the hijacking of 200+ Indian citizens which led to the release of terrorists like Jaish-e-Mohammad leader. But then Afghans themselves do not want these cruel barbarians imposed by Pakistan to rule. Check your facts, then talk.
Mr@Polpot: Pakistan dont need to send anymore because most of the Indian population is brained washed by their media and now a days they are borne terrorist and making our region unsafe. E.g. why India is always with occupier of Afghanistan. first with USSR and now with NATO and US. always wants our region to be in hostile situation and then blame Pakistan for wrong doing. Dont worry your foul methods are making Pakistan and Afghan pashtoon united. Remember they ruled you for most of your Indian life and unity means old days are coming back. Run Indian run ...
