This will make it difficult for people to register stolen or smuggled ones, says Sindh Minister for Excise, Taxation
KARACHI:
Mukesh Chawla, Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation, said on Monday that vehicle registration has gone online, making it difficult for people to register stolen or smuggled ones. “People selling or buying cars or motorcycles can now verify the documents of the vehicle online,” he said. “A life-time tax of Rs1,000 is charged at the time of registration, which is mandatory within 60 days of the date of purchase.” He added that so far 76,000 new number plates have also been issued.
