Rules Violation: 5 cops suspended for beating driver

The police officials chased the truck for 15 minutes and managed to stop it near Sher Shah post.

MULTAN: Five men of a highway patrol team have been suspended from service for beating a truck driver and his assistant. Operations Senior Superintendant of Police Gohar Nafees said an enquiry committee headed by the Cantt SP and the Patrolling SP had been constituted to investigate the incident. According to the highway police, they had asked the truck driver to come out of the truck at Nag Shah Chowk on Sunday night. He said the driver instead drove the truck away. The police officials chased the truck for 15 minutes and managed to stop it near Sher Shah post. He said the policemen beat the truck driver and his assistant on the road and dragged them to the patrolling check-post.
