LANDI KOTAL: The education department of Khyber Agency put 30 teachers on notice on Monday for remaining absent from duty. Assistant Education Officer (ADO) Hastam Khan told journalists that officials of the education department conducted raids in 66 schools and found dozens of teachers absent from duty. The department issued show-cause notices to at least 30 teachers while a few were transferred. The ADO added that salary of the accused teachers will be deducted for the days they remained absent. Khan said the department will not tolerate dereliction in duties and stern action will be taken against those found guilty. “The education system in Khyber Agency is in a shambles but it will be improved,” Khan assured.
