A series of pamphlets criticising the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and exhorting the government to launch a military operation in North Waziristan have been distributed in parts of Mansehra.
The Urdu-language pamphlets do not identify its publishers and police and intelligence agencies have started investigating as to where they originated from. Some months back, similar pamphlets supporting the TTP were making rounds in Mansehra.
According to police and journalists, four different 10x4 pamphlets have been dropped outside local hotels and offices of lawyers and media persons. One of these, titled ‘Bachao Pakistan Tehreek’ (Save Pakistan Movement) uses references from the Holy Quran and saying of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) to declare suicide bombing un-Islamic.
Carrying the pictures of President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amir Haider Hoti, it urges the three to launch an operation in North Waziristan against the TTP.
The second pamphlet praises the Pakistan Army for its previous operations in Swat and the tribal areas. It criticises political leaders who did not condemn the attack on Malala Yousafzai, but appreciates PPP, ANP and MQM for showing solidarity with her.
The third pamphlet too, carries messages condemning the attack on Malala and praising PPP, ANP and MQM leadership.
The last pamphlet criticised the country’s superior judiciary and media for not acting strongly against the Taliban.

@Extra-ordinary villager: It may not be what you may think. I love all forces that are against Talibans and terrorists. I do not make any distinction between various groups of Talibans. To me, there are no different groups and they are all the same. I love anyone who can take out these evil forces.
@A J Khan I don't think they're evil exactly, they're very patriotic and loyal which is a good thing. But at the same time, they're often illogical and fanatic as well.
@Masood Khan The unfortunate story about the military operations with full credit to our army is that there is a massive loss of innocent life. There is in any operation. The power vacuum should be filled by developing those areas, bringing education after which people will leave extremist ideas. The thing is, the "Taliban" is a very vague word. It basically is used for every militia in this region. Many of the groups are not actually even anti-state, they can be of great use to us in our defense of those areas. If we can negotiate with these groups, and win them over to our side, the TTP sort of anti-state groups will be left powerless and isolated. Once that's done, they can easily be dealt with once and for all in military operations of far smaller scales. Whether they are in Khyber, N.Waziristan, or even Balochistan which also has a great deal of pro-Pakistan militias which haven't been isolated from separatist ones, and therefore are also termed terrorists.
@lovePak:
Negotiate with whom & what? Taliban don't represent FATA, they have occupied the tribal areas by murdering the maliks and sardars. There is power vacuum in FATA. BTW, why JI&CO and other RW parties are so opposed to operation in North Waziristan. Army has been doing operation in Khyber, Orakzai, S. Waziristan, Swat etc, but why so much resistance on N. Waziristan; are we saving some high value targets over there?
Actually these type of pamphlets should be distributed in Karachi to appeal an operation cleanup, to protect people of Karachi from Super Taliban ( PPP + MQM + ANP ). Dozens killed here in a day.
Whether the pamphlets have been distributed by political parties or local public or both, the message is loud and clear for the military to launch operations in NW as people of Pakistan are totally fed up with the ongoing atrocities by Talebans for the past three years and they can no longer tolerate the same. Lets see whether this new development has any positive affect on Kayani or he continues to ignore the appeal of the hapless people and take no action against the Taleban. The tragedy with Pakistan is that this poor country allots billions of dollars to military for external and internal security of the country but the army has been found wanting in safeguarding its own people.
@Raj-USA: I can understand why you love MQM so much...
good move by an anonymous patriot
@lovePak: As a matter of fact, people have started hating these evils so much that they wish some one could just eliminate them along with their supporters. But may be ground situation and resources does not permit such venture.
In an alternate universe!
Good Work Government (PPP, MQM, ANP) ..... Praising your own self and dropping off the Pamphlets !!
The contents of the Pamphlets seems to be correct, but the demand of military operation in North Waziristan is not viable for the time being as it will further destabalize the situation and add to the woes of Pakistani people.
Coming soon!
When MQM wants to do something, they do it diligently with determination and dedication.
There is nothing going to be changed and happened by the these distributions of anti-Taliban's pamphlets......
This pamphlet was probably written by someone like Zaid Hamid. The military isn't the answer to everything, we should negotiate. Get these people on our side, and isolate the remaining terrorists like Imran Khan says. And then fight and win an easy battle.
Don't go to N.Waziristan! The point of this pamphlet is to get support for the operation that they didn't receive after the Malala incident. That will only result in more innocent lives lost. The recent attacks on Pakistan from the TTP aren't originating from N.Waziristan, they are originating from Afghanistan.
