KARACHI: Sindh IGP Fayyaz Ahmed Laghari has directed the police department to prepare a comprehensive plan in consultation with law enforcement agencies for Muharram. Laghari said that steps must be taken to prohibit the sale of hate material such as pamphlets, placards, CDs, DVDs, audio and video cassettes. He advised officials to ensure that people organising processions and majalis have the contact numbers of DIGs, SHOs and control rooms. Security arrangements at bus and truck terminals, railways stations and all entry and exit points around the city will also be enhanced. Walk-through gates will be installed at the entrances of Muharram processions, majalis and imambargahs and entry shall only be allowed after proper identification and a complete body search.
