Certification: Censor board hears out film importers

CBFC chairman assures that he understands problems faced by importers.

Following an article published in The Express Tribune about the clash of exhibitors and the censor board, a meeting was held between Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) Chairman Dr Raja Mustafa Hyder and Pakistan Film Exhibitors Association (Southern Zone) Chairman Nadeem H Mandviwalla. The PFEA chairman emphasised the timely certification of the films so they can be released on their scheduled dates to prevent heavy losses. The CBFC chairman assured that he understands problems faced by importers and the association will do its utmost to certify the films in time so they can be released as per schedule. Moreover, he also requested that importers of foreign films should complete formalities well in advance and send in film prints 72 hours before the scheduled release.
