Federal Secretary Water and Power Nargis Sethi on Saturday said that the government had planned to complete mega hydropower projects on priority basis for generation of low-cost electricity.
Talking to representatives of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association and the Pakistan Steel Melters Association at the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) house, she said that the government was making all-out efforts to provide electricity to all consumers including industries and commercial users.
Sethi said the government was paying full attention to complete Diamer Bhasha Dam and Wassu Dam which could provide ample electricity, helping to not only end power outages but also boost the economy. Sethi maintained that the Ministry of Water and Power was working day and night for keeping high standards of good governance, fight out corruption, remove line losses and improve efficiency at every level in the ministry. She hoped that with improvement in governance and keeping a high standard working environment, the country could get rid of power outages in near future.
