Vehicle duty: Customs told to report on tax defaulters

KARACHI: The Supreme Court has directed the collector of customs to submit a detailed report about the progress made by his department in the last three months to curb the use of vehicles that have not paid their duties. They are on Karachi’s roads in a large number and most of them vehicles have been smuggled. The court had taken notice of the lack of against taken against unregistered vehicles and those that had dodged the tax as they were being used in crime, particularly in Karachi.
