Two killed in Mardan blast

Two people were killed in a suicide blast that occurred in an Ahmadi worship place in Mardan during Friday prayers.

MARDAN: Two people were killed and five injured in a suicide blast that occurred in an Ahmadi worship place in Mardan, Canal road area during Friday prayers.

According to eye witnesses, the suicide bomber blew himself up when the guard opened fire in order to stop him.

The injured have been shifted to the district headquarter hospital in Mardan. Canal road is one of the posh areas of the city.

This is the second blast in the province today. Earlier on Friday morning, an explosion near a police vehicle in Peshawar killed one policeman and injured three.

It was a shameful and coward act.Ahmadiyya Jammaat is a target of such atrocities since many decades due to the hate campaign against them by the orthodox religious extremist mullahs. We must condemn all those religious parties who are directly and indirectly supporting these Talibaan and their coward act of terrorism. It is very shameful for our urdu print and electronic media who always project these mullahs in their news papers and channels to launch hate campaigns against the vulnerable and devrived communities like Ahmadiyya Jammaat.

Muzaffar Ahmad | 14 years ago | Reply @ Talha, The attack was foiled by ahmadi guard, and no passerby was killed, the only person dead other than suicide bomber was another ahmadi volunteer, who was performing security duty on the main gate. His Namaz-e-Janaza is being offered today at Ahmadiyya Headquaters in Rabwah, Punjab

Talha | 14 years ago | Reply The attack has been foiled by Ahmadi guards but sadly one passerby was killed when the suicide bomber blew himself up. The other killed is the suicide bomber himself. The guards opened fire on the suicide bomber who could not reach the place. Large human toll has been avoided.

Pakistan needs to return to Jinnah pakistan and seperate religion and politics and follow the ideal of August 11 speech of Quaid Azam which states every citizen of this country is equal. Jammat Islami and other religious parties opposed creation of pakistan, these parties should be banned. These parties are terrorist and they are behind taliban who are killings innocent people. Mudoodi literature and books shuold be banned as done in bangladesh as they promote intolerance and extremism and are unislamic.
