Cricket: British Army team arrives in Pakistan
British Army team arrives to play three T20 matches in Pakistan.
ISLAMABAD:
A total of 18 members of the British Army Cricket Team Contingent, headed by Colonel Peter Sharland, arrived at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Karachi yesterday, according to a press release. Strict security arrangements were made for the reception of the British team, said media committee chairman Colonel Waseem Ahmed.
“A successful tour will send a message of peace to the world community,” stated the release. The team is scheduled to play three T20s – two against a Pakistan Army side and one against the PCB XI squad – and a lone one-day match against Pakistan Army. The matches begin tomorrow, with Pakistan Army facing the British Army.
