Security Lapse: Four injured in bank robbery

The injured men were taken to a hospital, where they were reported to be out of danger.

GUJRANWALA: Four people, including a bank security guard and an assistant manager, were injured during a bank robbery on Friday, in which robbers took away hundreds of thousands of rupees. Police said four masked men had entered a bank on College Road and told the customers and staff to lie down on the floor. When the guard, Fazal Majeed, tried to stop them they fired several shots in the air, injuring the guard and three other men including the assistant manager, Shoaib. Before the police arrived, the robbers fled with hundreds of thousands of rupees from the staff and customers at the electricity billing counter. The injured men were taken to a hospital, where they were reported to be out of danger. The other men injured were later identified as Tahir Majeed and Ijaz Ahmed.
