ISLAMABAD: Three guards, allegedly associated with Interior Minister Rehman Malik’s brother Khalid Malik, thrashed a Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) MPA Wajiuz Zaman and his brother over a dispute regarding an illegal kiosk at Shalimar Park on Thursday. The incident occurred after the PML-Q MPA asked the guards to remove the illegal kiosk. Zaman and his brother were injured in the subsequent scuffle. While reporting the incident at Koshar police station, Zaman alleged Khalid Malik orchestrated the episode. The latter, however, denied any involvement. On October 31, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court ordered the CDA to remove the kiosk. Petitioner Vice Admiral (retd) Muhammad Ahmad Tasnim alleged it was being run by Khalid Malik.
