I believe that LUMS has committed a mistake by losing a teacher of such high standing.
HYDERABAD, INDIA: An educational institution is as good as its teachers. A good teacher attracts the best students. Universities like Harvard, Princeton, etc., are very good and are considered prestigious because all their teachers are top class, many of them being Nobel laureates. That is why they attract the best students. Hence, it is difficult to get admission into these institutions. Whatever the reasons behind Lums’ decision not to renew Professor Hoodbhoy’s contract, I believe that it has committed a mistake by losing a teacher of such high standing.
