Bollywood marathon with lots of popcorn

Here’s a list of Bollywood movies to watch this winter!

After some absolute hits and letdowns this year, 2012 will close for Bollywood with a few interesting movies. While we still can’t tell you if Jab Tak Hai Jaan will screen in Pakistani theatres or not (our sources tell us it won’t!), here’s a list of Bollywood flicks that can make dull winter days more fun and enjoyable.

Son of Sardaar

This romantic-drama directed by Ashwni Dhir is a remake of Telugu movie Maryada Ramanna, which itself is a remake of the 1923 American silent movie Our Hospitality. The comedy film which features Ajay Devgn, Juhi Chawla, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles, is set to release November 13. Even Salman Khan teamed up with the Son of Sardaar trio for a special cameo appearance in a song titled “Po Po”. This film promises to leave us in fits of laughter — let’s hope we’re not disappointed.

Talaash

The upcoming Indian suspense thriller Talaash: The Answer Lies Within, is directed by Reema Kagti and jointly produced by Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions. The film features Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor in pivotal roles. The plot focuses on a cop, a housewife and a prostitute entangled in a mystery that links their lives in unexpected ways. Aamir’s new venture is finally scheduled to hit the screens November 30 and we are as excited as ever; when was the last time an Aamir Khan movie was not worth watching?

Khiladi 786

Akshay Kumar is back with his Khiladi series alongside Asin Thottumkal. But this time, Mithun Chakraborty, Paresh Rawal and Himesh Reshammiya will also appear in pivotal roles. This joint production of Fox Searchlight Pictures, HR Musik Limited and Hari Om Entertainment is set to release on December 7.

Dabangg 2

The Salman-Sonakshi duo is back with Dabangg’s sequel, where producer Arbaaz Khan brings Salman Khan and Malaika Arora Khan together with another item number “Pandeyji Ceetee Mare” (oh, how we loved Munni!). The comedy-drama is slated for release on December 21. In the sequel, Chulbul Pandey moves to Lucknow with his wife and son. The city witnesses criminal activities like kidnapping, rape and murder on a daily basis and a politician — who is a strong contender for upcoming elections — is the man behind all this commotion. Pandey sabotages his political career and gets him imprisoned by revealing his immoral activities to the media and public. The politician’s brothers, in response, take revenge by kidnapping Pandey’s son and torturing him.

So grab that popcorn and Coke and get ready for a Bollywood movie marathon this winter!
