Officials said the militants were killed when helicopter gunships pounded hideouts in the Malakdin Khel area after a clash eruped with forces in Shlobar earlier today.
“The bodies of six militants are lying in the Nala Khwar area,” a security official said.
An official was killed and three other were injured during clashes in Sipah, Qambar Abad and Malikdin Khel early Monday morning at around 6:00am, official sources told The Express Tribune.
One official was killed as a result of a landmine explosion.
The renewed operation in Bara began on October 23 after militants continued to attack settled areas frequently. A police station was burnt down and six officials, including a senior police official, were killed in the bordering Mattani area.

Seems you were mistaken and there are civilian causalities on ground when helicopter gunships are used on ones own population - like the sister of one of the posters here.
As far as I know only very brutal and ruthless regimes will use air power, both fighters and gunships, against own citizens. Why is Pakistan Army afraid of conducting counterinsurgency operations on ground ?

How can F-16s and helicopter gunships be more accurate than American drones. I am sure they are causing much more collateral damage.
I have never understood the mechanism which the military applies to claim the militant killed in aerial and artillery bombardment without proper verification on the ground. Thousands of militants have been claimed to be killed by both weopon systems for the past three years which appears to be quite incredible.
An open war against the terrorists and their supporters should be declaired in the area . They are not the citizen of Pakistan any more .
