SUKKUR: A major portion of the roof of the basic health unit in Dara Wahan village, which is close to Kandhra and 12 kilometres from Sukkur, collapsed on Thursday. Malaria supervisor at the unit, Abdul Rehman Malik, was hit in the head by falling debris, and was provided first aid by the on-duty doctor. His condition was said to bet stable. Dr Saifullah Qureshi, in charge of the health unit, and lady doctor Farzana Talpur both said that the building was in a precarious condition and they had repeatedly requested the administration to repair it. Dr Qureshi added that the roof of the labour room at the health unit had collapsed after torrential rains had ravaged the province in September.
