A dangerous job: Policeman killed in drive-by shooting
Armed men killed a policeman and injured another on Thursday morning on Haji Latif Shah Road, within the jurisdiction of the Lakhidar police station in Shikarpur.
Police constables Peeran Jurio and Papoo Rahojo were sitting at a roadside stall outside the SSP’s office when three armed men on a motorcycle opened fire on them. Jurio died at the spot, while Rahojo sustained injuries and was taken to Civil hospital.
He was later shifted to Larkana hospital as his condition had become critical. Jawed Ahmed, the head constable of the Lakhidar police station, said that both the men were escorting the SSP when they were shot. The motive behind the killing has yet to be ascertained.
