KARACHI: The Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) has been asked to host the PCB Inter-District matches on good pitches in order to improve the quality of cricket. The suggestion was given by former Test and first-class cricketers in a meeting here at the National Stadium.

It has been learnt that notable names like Tauseef Ahmed, Saleem Jaffar, Azam Khan and Zafar Ahmed were present.

“KCCA should host Inter-district matches on quality grounds as their own venues have poor pitches which are not satisfactory for first-class cricket,” a former cricket told The Express Tribune.

“Additionally, top cricketers should be allowed to engage actively on zonal level as their experience will play a vital role in nurturing talent.”

KCCA secretary Ijaz Farooqui said he respected the suggestions given by the former players and the relevant officials will deliberate on them.
