Famous satirist and comedian Jaspal Bhatti's untimely death has shocked many, including the Indian film fraternity. Bhatti, 57, died in a road accident near Punjab’s Nakodar town, 40 km from Jalandhar, early Thursday. He was on his way to Jalandhar for promoting his latest film Power Cut.
Celebrities including Anupam Kher, Akshay and Riteish Deshmukh expressed their grief.
Anupam Kher: Why is God taking away all the nicest people? So sad. I used to tell Jaspal Bhatti that he does fantastic comedy so seriously. He was also a great supporter of anti-corruption campaigns. RIP.
Akshay Kumar: Saddened to know about the death of the great comedian, Jaspal Bhatti. I have fond memories of his super hit TV show, “Flop Show”, providing the much needed humour in our lives. May his soul rest in peace.
Madhur Bhandarkar: To make people laugh is an art and Jaspal Bhatti mastered it. RIP Bhatti ji, may God give strength to your family.

He showed a mittor to society in his own inimitable style which made us laught and made us think. Grew up watching The Flop show and later Ulta Pulta
He was an Engineer by profession. He worked for Punjab Mandi ( Market ) Board. He was a clean Engineer. I liked his movie KUCCH MEETHA HO JAYE with Arshad Warsi. RIP JB
Feeling really sad
He will be missed! I loved his style. Sad part is few years back he met with similar traffic accident but survived.
