While hearing a petition pertaining to suspension of cell phone services, the SHC said that mobile services, suspended in case of emergency, could be only be done on the president’s directives.
An interior ministry official had earlier said that cellular services are most likely to be suspended on Eidul Azha in sensitive areas of the country, including Karachi, Lahore, some areas of Balochistan, the tribal areas and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The official said that the suspension will begin Friday night and will continue till Saturday.
The Government of Sindh, issued a notificiation on Tuesday, saying that it will be a public holiday from October 26 to 29, 2012 for all its employees and workers in the province.
Eidul Azha will be celebrated on October 27, 2012.
On Eidul Fitr this year, cellular services were suspended for one day across the country causing inconvenience to mobile phone users.

That's farce to block cellular services in Pakistan, as per international agreements with the cellular companies Govt of Pakistan has guarantee to keep the services uninterrupted. Sindh High Court has rightly hold that only President is competent to issue blockade orders. If cell services can be go in Afghanistan or other war sore countries why not in Pakistan?
