K-P Governor claims most of Taliban support anti-polio campaign

PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Masood Kausar said on Wednesday that while most of the Taliban support the anti-polio drive, only a handful of them were against the campaign.

Talking to journalists after inaugurating the anti-polio drive at University of Peshawar, Kausar said polio cases were rampant in those areas of FATA where literacy ratio was low.

“The government is aware of the gravity of the situation and promoting education to rid K-P of the dreaded disease haunting the province and tribal areas,” he added.
