Balochistan demonstration: Doctors protest against kidnapping

Rally of the PMA members passed through various streets of the provincial capital.

QUETTA: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Balochistan chapter took out a rally on Saturday against the kidnapping of Ophthalmologist Dr Saeed Ahmed. The rally of the PMA members passed through various streets of the provincial capital and culminated in a protest outside Quetta Press Club. The protesting PMA members were carrying banners and placards in their hands inscribed with various anti-government slogans. They also chanted slogans against the provincial government for providing no security to the doctors’ fraternity. They condemned the provincial government as corrupt and patrons of kidnappers. Addressing the occasion, the president of PMA Balochistan Dr Sultan Tareen and other speakers said that as many as 27 doctors fell victim to target killing and 13 were kidnapped during the last three years and regretted that they had repeatedly asked the provincial government to provide the doctors’ security t in vain.
