HYDERABAD: The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, has condemned Hyderabad Electricty Supply Company’s decision to cut off electricity supply to the staff’s residential colony, student hostel and the water supply system. HESCO has cut off the supply without verifying whether the university had any unpaid electricity dues, said the university’s deputy registrar, Dr Saroop Bhatia. According to him, 45 per cent of the colony was occupied by government employees. “We have continuously been asking HESCO to install separate billing meters so that the exact amount of electricity being consumed by the university and that being consumed by government employees can be determined,” he added.
