Fake domiciles: One held for forgery

TORGHAR: An official of the District Coordination Officer’s office was arrested on Saturday for providing forged domicile certificates. The Torghar Police arrested Qasim, a junior clerk after a couple of candidates applying for government jobs in Torghar divulged during investigation that they had acquired forged domicile certificates from Qasim at a cost of Rs5,000 per certificate. Police sources said that since the status of Torghar was changed to that of a district, people have been forging their domiciles to secure jobs in various government departments. Due to a public holiday on Saturday, no official from the DCO office was available to comment on the issue.
