KESC seemed to lack form as they only managed to score through a penalty-kick that Mohammad Rasool converted in the 20th minute. With the win, KESC now has 30 points after 15 matches, while ZTBL stays in 13th after losing their seventh match of the league.
“It’s been a little unlucky for us,” KESC captain Mohammad Essa Khan told The Express Tribune. “Our performance was affected by fatigue. We just played our 15th match and from now on the real battle starts for us. We are still one of the top contenders.”
Meanwhile, the match between PIA and PAF was postponed due to rain in Peshawar. According to the PIA coach Shamim Khan, the delay is a blessing in disguise for the exhausted players.
“It takes time for the players to recuperate,” said Shamim. “At times a day’s rest is not enough. The battle in the league certainly starts now.”
