5 killed, 4 injured in Karachi violence

Three of the injured have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

KARACHI: Five people were killed while four sustained injuries in the ongoing wave of violence in Karachi  on Friday.

One person was killed when unknown assailants opened fire in Zia Colony. The dead was identified as 25-year-old Yousuf, a resident of the area.

The body of the deceased was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, another person was gunned down in a firing incident in Bilal Colony. The victim was a 21-year-old resident of Gulzar Colony.

Sources said the deceased was associated with a political party. He was also shifted to JPMC.

In the Saeedabad area, a car carrying four persons was targeted by armed attackers. The attack left one dead and three injured.

The injured were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

While, Express News reported that two people were killed and one was injured in a firing incident near Abul Hassan Ispahani Road.

According to initial details, Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat (ASWJ) had organised a rally in the area. After it ended, unknown armed men opened fire, injuring three. Two of the injured died on the spot. The incident led to closure of shops in the area.

ASWJ men should put there guns down and try to live peacefully.violence does not solve anything
