Targeted Attack: Woman doctor injured, driver killed

The accused managed to escape but an FIR has been registered against them.

DI KHAN:


A female doctor was injured and her driver killed when two unidentified motorcyclists opened fired on them in DI Khan.


According to SHO Saifur Rehman Khan, Dr Sadia works for government-run Mufti Mehmood Hospital and was on her way there at 8am on Thursday when the assailants targeted her on bypass chowk on Dera-Daraban Road.

The accused opened fire at their car in which she got hit by a bullet on her hand, while her 27-year-old driver Asif Tanveer was killed.

The accused managed to escape but an FIR has been registered against them. Dr Sadia was taken to District Headquarters Hospital and is now out of danger.

Provincial Doctors Association Press Secretary Dr Muhammad Rizwan and Vice-President Dr Mehmod Jan Bittanee visited the injured and condemned the attack. They demanded that the government provide security to hospital staff.
