Revenue department: Rs356.7m land vacated from grabbers

Rs365.64 million has been collected from the Bahawalpur division this year including Rs16.2 million in October.

BAHAWALPUR: Revenue Department vacated 273 acres and six kanals from land grabbers in Bahawalpur estimated at Rs356.7 million. This was announced in a meeting presided over by Sardar Muhammad Akram Javed, a Board of Revenue member. Javed said so far in 2012, Rs365.64 million has been collected from the Bahawalpur division this year including Rs16.2 million in October. He said proper steps were being taken for the collection of old receivable amount. Currently, he said, the collection ratio stood at 100 per cent. He said the Department collected Rs79.4 million in stamp duty, Rs41.6 million in registration fee, Rs22.7 million in capital value tax, Rs143.7 million in transfer of property, Rs75.6 million in water rate and Rs2.382 million in agricultural income tax.
