The court adjourned proceedings regarding his bail plea till October 18.
Imran was presented before the court of Judicial Magistrate Yalmas Ghani amid tightened security. A heavy contingent of police was deployed at and around the court’s premises.
Police prayed to the court to send the chief minister’s son-in-law on remand.
Imran’s lawyers submitted a bail application in court. The court adjourned the hearing till tomorrow and issued notices to all respondents in the case.
Sharif’s son-in-law was arrested on Wednesday after he recorded his statement at the Defence B Police Station in the same case.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had earlier ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident.
According to the First Information Report lodged under sections 148, 149 and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code, complainant Umer Hussain stated that he ran the confectionary, ‘Sweet Tooth’, in T-Block market.
On October 7, a woman came to the shop and asked for a cake; however, the shop was closed for cleaning. The employees asked her to come later when the shop would be open. Two men, who appeared to be bodyguards of the woman, misbehaved with an employee named Irfan and left with warnings of dire consequences, Hussain added.
On the same day, the guards visited the bakery along with another man, identified the worker and escorted him outside the shop. Around six to seven Elite Force officials, who were present outside the bakery, started beating up Irfan and threatened him further.

Why Rabia Imran ( daughter of CM) is not arrested so far?Judge should bring this couple back to earth. they must know how a common man lives his life. I am hoping he gives them jail time and 500 hrs of community time plus 10 million rupees as a compensation to the bakery man as a compensation.This way history will not repeat itself. Hopefully?
@Jedi: This shows you why the Punjab has some sense of accountability unlike other provinces. At least in the Punjab the CM's son in law will be charged whereas they would get away with similar criminality in other provinces. I think that the woman who is behind this incident should also be charged. If anything I have more faith in Punjab's government knowing that anyone who misbehaves will be charged under the law.
I am surprised of we pakistanies who do'nt know anything except critisim.if CM did'nt provide his son in law then critisim,if he did now people are saying its just to make good position in upcoming elections.we should be clear what we want.its an admire able step so we should'nt criticise now.

The right way would be to allow the bakery security guard to have a go at these goons - with a fine, well made, Sialkoti cricket bat. The guards should get some whopping with wickets too. The lady (its a disgrace to call her one though) should publicly apologize for her behaviour and pay damages (Rs. 1 crore) to the poor security guard.
Send this son in law to NY for community service for 500 hrs like the way, Leona Helmsley (hotel owner). She was asked to do community service and given jail time at age 75. This way judge made sure to let her know how poor people live their life.Please go to google and search under Leona Helmsley. We should learn good things from the WEST or from any where.
FBR should look into his and her(daughter of CM) tax return . Did they show all the income? And paid all the taxes? Have they paid all the property taxes? How about all the electric and gas bills?

If it was not for the Media Shahbaz Sharif would never have started this eye wash drama of arresting his son in law. It was his daughter who sent people to beat that boy and She should be behind the bars and sentenced to a month at least in any other province.

I think court should order CM's daughter to do atleast 70 hrs of community work in poor areas of Lahore. Then may be she realises how poor communities and people live.How hard is life for them, How they struggle to get food for their children? How they are living without shelter? My appeal to all Govt. officals , leaders when you have power pl don't play god. Have mercy on poor people.If you can't do anything for them atleast talk politely with them.

As a PTI supporter what dissapoints me is the fact that CM's kids and son-in-law have access to govt vehicles, staff, police, etc. They should not have access or command over that in the first place. Really, why do they need all that protocol in the first place....wasn't CM saying a few months ago that he will end VIP culture....why doesn't he start with his family?

On thing I cann't understand that why some people are saying that Supreme Court should take suo moto notice. SC can only take notice if the competent authority had not taken notice of it, which has already done by Punjab Govt. CM's son in law is behind the bars and investigation is on. This incident happend on 7 October. No case or FIR was registered till yesterdat 17 October. First this incident was shown on social media and than Tv talk show were done on it after pressure from social media and than electronic media the FIR was launched. first police person said it was his personal problem with bakery guy , The video is avaialble of police guy saying it was his personal fight. When it was not accepted by public and media now this new drama . ONE QUESTION why were so many elite force with DAUGHTER and SON- IN-LAW of Shahbaz Sharif.?

What about the numerous other cases of police high handedness which happen on daily basis and no one even gets to know about them. If he were sincere, he would instead have talked about introducing police reforms and depoliticizing the police.
