Cross-border shelling: Child injured as 10 missiles fired into Bajaur

The political administration official for Bajaur Agency, Faramosh Khan revealed that 10 missiles were fired into the agency from Afghanistan on Wednesday.


He said the attacks targeted border villages of Meena, Ghabari and Bandagai which lie on the Pakistani side of the Durand line.

Local sources confirmed the attacks and addedthat one child, identified as Khashia Bibi was injured.

Officials at the Agency Headquarters, Khar, said that no injured person had been brought to the hospital for treatment.

Sources added that livestock were killed during the attack.

The areas which
were shelled adjoin the Afghan province of Kunar, where Pakistan claims militant hide outs are present.

On August 24, militants from across the border had attacked the Salarzai-Batwar area, but were pushed back after two weeks of fighting.
