District West gets a new DIG

Odho was previously appointed as DIG Special Branch district Sukkar.

KARACHI: Deputy inspector general (DIG) Special Branch, district Sukkar Javed Odho has been appointed as the new DIG for district West, a notification read on Wednesday.

Odho replaces DIG Akram Naeem Bharoka.

DIG Odho who has previously served at a number of deputations in Karachi. Prior to being handed his current assignment, he was posted as DIG Sukkar district.

While talking to The Express Tribune, he said that he has assumed the charge of his new post but will start proper working from Thursday, adding that he has been tasked to curb politico-ethnic violence in his sector. Several incidents of sectarian target killings have been reported from district West in past couple of months.
