Cattle smuggling: Extra security on check posts ordered
Provincial government directs authorities concerned to comply with the orders.
PESHAWAR:
Following orders of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti about cattle being smuggled from the province to Afghanistan, a meeting was held by the Home and Tribal Affairs Department on Wednesday to discuss the next steps the government would take. The meeting was led by K-P Home Secretary Muhammad Azam Khan and was attended by senior regional police officers, political agents, commissioner sub division and other officials. Delegates at the meeting decided that they would not tolerate the smuggling any longer and that all resources would be utilised to curb smuggling. They said this was especially important since Eidul Azha was approaching. Following the instructions of the chief minister, the provincial government directed authorities concerned to comply with the orders and deploy extra staff on the Pak- Afghan route. Azam also said strict action would be taken against officials found to be neglecting their duties.
