Crippling disease: Polio attacks two children in K-P

One suffered from measles three months ago and whooping cough recently.

PESHAWAR: Amid claims by the senior officials of the provincial government and another polio drive launched on Monday across K-P and FATA, two more cases of the crippling disease have surfaced in the tribal area and the Mansehra district on Tuesday. According to Deputy Director Expanded Polio Immunisation Programme Janbaz Afridi, a 19-month-old boy, Shahzeb of Chinar Charming Nawagai village of Bajaur Agency and 30-month old girl, Hozzia of Harneel village of Mansehra have suffered from poliovirus. Afridi said that according to the mother, Hozzia was vaccinated. The girl suffered from measles three months ago and whooping cough recently. He said that the ongoing drive will continue to vaccinate all children.
