Taekwondo: Pakistan to take part in Korean Open

KARACHI: Pakistan will participate in the seventh Korean Open International Taekwondo Championship that will start from October 25 in Gyeongju, featuring 37 other countries. According to Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) President Iftikhar Ahmad Tabassum, this will be the team’s first international event of the year. The federation will be sending eight male athletes who will participate in the Poomsae and Kyorugi categories. The athletes are preparing for the tournament in Lahore. “It’s just a big achievement for us to even manage to send a team to Korea,” Tabassum told The Express Tribune. “We are sending our national champions in five categories for team and individual events. We expect our athletes to at least bring a bronze medal out of six individual and two team events.”
