ISLAMABAD:

The police arrested two Chinese women on Monday for failing to produce documents proving they were staying legally in Pakistan. The Ramna police said the two women could not explain the purpose of their presence in the country.

A police official said they were informed about the presence of a massage centre in Sector G-11. When a police team raided the site, they found two Chinese women in the flat, both of whom had passports but no visas.

The women — identified as Deya and Xiao — were sent to lock up and a case was registered against them, said the police. Further investigations were underway.

Quoting the initial investigations, a police official from Ramna Police Station said that the women were running a massage parlour in the rented flat.

However, at the time of raid, the police said they did not find any clients at the suspected massage parlour and only the two women were arrested.

The suspects told the police that they lost their passports which had Pakistani visas on them, and they later obtained duplicates from the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan. However, the police said they could also not produce any documents showing proof they had lost their passports or any record of communication with the local authorities for permission to live in Pakistan.
