Criminals at large: Irrigation Dept worker kidnapped

BAHAWALPUR: An Irrigation Department beldar was abducted by five men from Kot Sabzal, Sadiqabad, on Sunday. Liaquat Ali and Junaid Khosa were working near Walhaar when the men picked up Ali. Khosa put up resistance and was beaten up for it.

He was then tied to a tree as the kidnappers took away Ali. Citizens staged a demonstration against the police and said police patrolling had become useless.They urged the district police officer to take steps against the increasing crime in Kot Sabzal. District Police Officer’s Public Relations Officer Nawaz said it seemed that the kidnapping was the result of an old enmity.
